Colossians 2:11-14

Good morning my friend. I hope all is well with you. Today is another day we wake up and get on with life. I trust the Lord will watch over you in all you do today. Thank you for enjoying our time in the word.

In Him,
David
--------------------------------------
And in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; having been buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Colossians 2:11-14

In the Old Testament the use of circumcision was created as an outward sign for every Jew of their faith in the Lord. Abraham was taught this practice in order to set apart the people as holy to the Lord. Now Paul uses turns things even deeper into the circumcision of the heart. It is in the heart where we truly show faith Jesus and commit our lives to Him. We were buried in Him and therefore begin to live in Him in His resurrection.

Friends, all of our sins have been taken care of already by the cross. Jesus canceled out all debt when He died so that nothing could be held against us. If we break all of the law it will not keep us from being with the Lord. Jesus made sure to remove our sins as far as the east is from the west.

In Christ all of our sins have been paid for. His death sealed the punishment for sin and we no longer are responsible to make things right. We must have faith in all of these things and also in the resurrection. When Jesus rose from the dead it gave us a new life in Him. The power of God was displayed and in that we are given the chance to walk in newness apart from the sin. We died with Him, and were raised with Him, so now we must live with Him.
