John 17:20-21

I love my little girl. She will crawl up to me, get herself into a standing up using my pant leg and then reach up to me as far as she can even on her tip toes just so I will pick her up. I watched her do that yesterday and it struck me, that is how we should be with the Lord in worship. Stretching ourselves so far out in praise and prayer that all we desire is to be picked up and held. Wonderful thought.

"I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.
John 17:20-21

God’s ultimate plan is for every person in every area of the world to be a member of His church. When our minds think of the church, instantly we picture American congregations gathering together once a week for fellowship and prayer. This is only a small glimpse of the global church.
The message of Jesus has spread throughout the world so that there are pieces of the great body of Christ all around. We easily forget our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living in countries like Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and Iraq. To us, those are just dusty old countries that someone should witness in. The church is thriving already in so many places of this world, but also under a great deal of persecution.
Now as for the command or we should say prayer of our Lord to the Father. Jesus seeks for the unity of believers in the world; for all who come to Him. This is a unity that blurs the lines between color, gender, and ethnic background. In God’s heart the people who live and breathe in places like Indonesia, and Burma are in just as much a need to be united as those in America. We must not lose our mindset that the Church is called to be united as one body, full of many parts. We are all to be gathered together as one so the world may know Jesus and the powerful work of the cross to save souls.
