Psalm 8:1-2

Please pray for my wife and her mom and Avery this weekend as they fly to Florida for some work and vacation time. Holly has the work part, though they are going to Disney world which will be fun for them. Pray for safe travel. Thank you for your prayers my friend.

David

------------------------------------------
O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
        You have ordained strength,
        Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.

Psalm 8:1-2

What will matter in the end, is not what you accomplished for the King, but what you did with the King. We all have our desires to do great things and be good people. I do not know too many who wake up every day planning to not succeed in one way or another. The Lord gives us goals, dreams, and desires to fulfill His will in our lives. But these all have to be done alongside our Lord.

David writes this Psalm with the babies and infants of the world in mind. I do not believe he was thinking of actual toddlers, but more of those of us who have yet to grow to maturity in Christ. In other words, even the newborn believer can do great things just as a man who walks with God his whole life. God does not matter what your resume looks like, but what your current work looks like. Even more, he wants to be involved.

If we do not involve our Lord in our lives, we miss out on some of the greatest things He wants to give. A lifetime relationship with the Father is more treasured than anything we can ever seek. Through Him we will have the desires of our hearts, because the close we are to Him the more His will becomes our own.
