Genesis 12:1-3

We had a great time this past week with my sister out for a visit. We also enjoy family coming, and Avery just enjoys being her cute adorable self. She is almost walking on her own, I know it will be any day now. I can't believe how quick she grows. Now on to the Word for today my friend.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the LORD had said to Abram:
      “Get out of your country,
      From your family
      And from your father’s house,
      To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
      I will bless you
      And make your name great;
      And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
      And I will curse him who curses you;
      And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Genesis 12:1-3

    Israel is the chosen people of the Lord God of all creation. There is a lot loaded into just that one sentence. How often do we realize that we worship a Jewish God, serve a Jewish Messiah, study scriptures and words handed down by Jewish men, and will one day praise the Lord in Jerusalem itself? Our King is going to rule on the throne of David. It is amazing really that we get to share in such a Kingdom, not a replacement of Israel but a companion.
    God’s promise to Abram has been coming true since He lead the children of Israel into the land to possess its borders. But still the extent of the Nation has yet to go as far as the Lord promised. There will come a day when this will change and the land will be going all the way to the Euphrates River. That is the only West Bank that matters. Messiah is coming to rule and reign.
    All of the people of earth tremble at the thought of Israel, just as the Word has said they would. The enemies of the land only thirst for war and destruction. There will be no peace however until the Prince of Peace comes. For now we must pray for Israel, and praise the Lord who is everlasting. He will come soon and it will be awesome to see His promises fulfilled even beyond our imagination.
