Psalm 4:4-8

Be angry, and do not sin.
        Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.  Selah
Offer the sacrifices of righteousness,
        And put your trust in the LORD.

There are many who say,
        “Who will show us any good?”
        LORD, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us.
You have put gladness in my heart,
        More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
        For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
Psalm 4:4-8

Our Lord God does give us the permission to feel angry. We always will have those moments where this comes to play and it’s good to know there is a level we can go with our anger and a place to stop. While we are angry about a situation or a person, we should never allow this anger to control our heart our attitude. Do not sin in letting your feelings control you, but give over your heart to God so he can give you His own.

While thinking about the sacrifices the Lord desires, I came upon Psalm 51 where David explains that the best thing to give to God is a broken and contrite heart. We must trust in Him and allow all of His love to flow through us. While on our beds, in our fellowship, wherever we are to just trust Him, then all men will see Him through us.

God alone is our dwelling in times of anger, fear, or even joy. Run to Him when you are happy, or feel alone. Give to Him your heart, your life, your soul, your strength. For He has given us His Son; I say again He gave His only Son. Praise Him.
